Gigabyte is mostly known for laptops, GPUs, computer spares/accessories, etc., but the lesser-known fact is that the company also churns out smartphones. Although people would not like to buy a smartphone from a brand that is not an expert in the smartphone market, Gigabyte does have some good smartphones for those buyers who are on a really tight budget and don’t care about the brand of the phone they are buying. Especially for such buyers, Gigabyte has unveiled four totally new Android phones under its own GSmart brand.

gigabyte, gigabyte classic, gigabyte classic lite, gigabyte essence, gigabyte essence 4

The first phone is named Gigabyte Classic, which is apparently the most-expensive and well-specced of all the four phones. It gets a 5-inch 720p HD screen and is powered by a Spredtrum chipset coupled with 1GB RAM. There’s an 8MP camera at the rear and a 5MP snapper at the front. Internal storage is 8GB with support for a microSD card of up to 32GB. The second phone is the Gigabyte Classic Lite, which gets a 5-inch screen with 854×480 resolution. It carries a downclocked processor with 512MB of RAM. A 5MP rear and 2MP front camera along with Android 4.4 KitKat is all this phone gets.

Third phone in the list is the Gigabyte Essence, which is exactly the same as the Classic Lite except the smaller 4.5-inch screen. Lastly, the Gigabyte Essence 4 is the most affordable smartphone with a really poor 4-inch 480×800 display. Powered bya dual-core MediaTek processor, the phone gets 4GB internal storage, 2MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera, and a small 1,300mAh battery.

None of the four Gigabyte phones are exciting by their specifications, but their pricing is something that will surely make the buyers use these phones as their secondary devices. The Gigabyte Classic costs €95, while the Classic Lite retails at €75. The Gigabyte Essence and Essence 4 cost €70 and €55 respectively.
