The Huawei Mate S, which was announced at IFA last month, is finally available for pre-order in the UK. Carphone Warehouse is the only retailer selling the smartphone (32GB variant) at this time. The phone is priced at £419 (SIM-free), while the subsidized plans start at £31 per month. The retailer expects to deliver the units by October 27th.
Specs-wise, the Huawei Mate S gets a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display, and is powered by its own HiSilicon Kirin 935 chipset with an octa-core processor (quad-core 2.2GHz + quad-core 1.5GHz). 3GB of RAM ensures the smooth processing, while the 32/64/128GB built-in memory stores your stuff. A 13-megapixel rear snapper provides the vibrant photos, while an 8-megapixel front shooter keeps you busy with selfies / video chat. Powering the device is a 2700mAh battery.
Running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with EMUI on top, the Mate S features several connectivity options including LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and microUSB. A fingerprint scanner can be found on the back of phone, which is fastest ever, according to reviewers.
According to Android Headlines, the Huawei Mate S is not expected to hit North America, and if it ever comes, it will most likely be another version, similar to Huawei P8 Lite.
