It was only a few days ago when ZUK co-founder Chenyu had announced that the domestic variant of the ZUK Z1 will get an Android 6.0 update by March 2016. However, this raised a new doubt in the minds of the buyers – whether or not the international variant of the ZUK Z1 will get an Android 6.0 update.
Well, this doubt hadn’t been cleared at that time, but the latest news today has answered this doubt. The international version of the Z1 will be getting an Android 6.0 upgrade too. This version is currently running Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, and after the update, the device will get Cyanogen OS 13 based on the newer Android 6.0.
However, there is no other information about this development at the moment, and we don’t know what changes the Cyanogen OS 13 update will bring to the ZUK Z1. Looking at the fact that the Android 6.0 update will be rolled out to the Chinese variant of the phone only after February, we can expect the same release time for the international version too.
