The Sony Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Dual have run the Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) operating system for a while now, even though Sony guaranteed to offer Lollipop upgrades for these handsets. The good thing is that it would not be long until Sony starts rolling out the promised upgrade. According to a XperiaBlog report, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for both Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Dual has been seen at PTCRB.

Besides the many new features, improvements and bug fixes that the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is bringing, we expect Sony to fix the Stagefright exploit.

It is possible that before being released globally, the update will roll out in just few countries. We are going to watch out for more information on this. Until then, stay tuned!
