Previously, we mentioned that the unveiling of the newest Windows 10 mobile build 10536 version means that Microsoft is ready to launch new flagships as well, and that appears to be true. Back in May, Zauba – an online website that tracks imports and exports in India – discovered a 4.7-inch device, codenamed RM-1127, which appears to be Microsoft Lumia 550.
The discovered device has two variants, one with a single SIM slot and the other one with dual SIM capability (RM-1128). According to the specs leaked in summer by a Microsoft distributor, Microsoft Lumia 550 is a 4.7-inch handset with 8 GB of native storage. The display will be 780 x 1280 or 540 x 960. The device sports the Snapdragon 210 chipset and 1GB of RAM. Lumia 550 could have a 5 MP rear and a 1.2 MP front camera. Based on these specs, we can say that it’s a mid-range phone.
Microsoft Lumia 550 will support 4G LTE connectivity and will also have Windows 10 Mobile pre-installed. The price of the phone will be about 120$. It seems that the phone will be unviled by the 6th of October, when Microsoft will hold an event to announce some new Windows 10 Mobile smartphones, including the Surface Pro 4.
You may not be that excited about a mid-range phone, but it’s hard to believe that Microsoft will stick only to that. The rumored high-range Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL smartphones could be unveiled on October 6th too, but for the moment, there isn’t any official news confirming that.
