Today, the Moto X Play, which has been in the news headlines for the last few weeks, has finally been launched in India. It is priced at Rs. 18,499 for the 16GB variant and Rs, 19,999 for the 32GB variant. The device will be on exclusive sale through Flipkart, starting midnight today.

Moto X Play

The Moto X Play is a device with a 5.5-inch FHD and 403ppi display, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 615 clocked at 1.7GHz, it houses 2GB of RAM. It is available in two variants with 16GB and 32GB of internal memory. It also features a whooping 21MP rear snapper with a 5MP selfie camera.

Running on Android 5.1 Lollipop, it is powered by a 3,630 mAh battery that will juice up the device’s engine for a long time. It provides connectivity through 4G LTE, dual-sim capability, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and GPS.

The manufacturer is known to bring massive changes with every new device they introduce in the market, be it the Moto G or the Moto E, or the high-end Moto X devices. So far, Motorola has been overshadowed by its Chinese competitors, whose devices are more powerful and affordable. However, with Moto G 2015, the situation is taking a turn in favor of Motorola, since they have launched an extremely powerful device under Rs. 15,000.

While the Moto X is not as cheap, it is still a great phone in a good price range. To continue its pace in the league of affordable yet high-quality devices, Motorola is expected to come up with the Moto X Style before the Diwali festival season in India.

It is time for Motorola fans to decide whether they want to go for the Moto X Play or wait for Moto X Style!
