Long awaited Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 could be announced this month on 16th. Today Mr. Tony, Marketing Manager, Xiaomi, has posted on his Weibo account “Do not wait so long to see the side, right? 816 See Beijing”, that means Xiaomi’s conference will be held on August 16th in Beijing, China. Just after this post, IHS Technology Wang Yang, director of China studies commented “Qiazhiyisuan, debut of the Redmi Note 2” mentioning the Tony’s post.
Yesterday, Lin Bin, President of Xiaomi has also said that company will release several good products in the second half, and its second half might be starting on August 16th with the release of Redmi Note 2.
According to TENAA listing, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will sport a 5.5 inch display with 1080×1920 pixels resolution, and will be powered by an octa-core 2GHz processor. It will come with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage with microSD card support, and a 3,020mAh battery.
In the camera department, the phone will feature a 13 megapixel rear snapper, along with a 5 megapixel front unit. Running Android 5.0 Lollipop with MIUI on top, the Redmi Note 2 measures 152.05 × 76.2 × 8.05mm, and weighs 158.62 grams.
For those are not aware, Xiaomi held a conference every year on August 16th and announces new discounts and promotions. It is also rumored that company will announce MIUI 7 on the same day.
