Apple’s MacBook Pro lineup is due for a major upgrade this year. We have already heard a lot of rumors about it, and even though the specs of the laptops have not leaked out, we do have some important features in our hands. Of course, most of this information is just prediction and speculation, so nothing is confirmed right now. But you must keep in mind that these are the most prominent leaks and might turn out to be true.
MacBook Pro 2016 Releasing in Q4 of 2016
While earlier rumors were suggesting that the new MacBook Pros will be launched at the WWDC that has already started, we don’t know whether it will be really unveiled at this event that will end on 17th. VineReport suggests that the 2016 MacBook Pro laptops will be unveiled at the WWDC 2016 event itself and will soon go on pre-orders. The notebooks will be released by the fourth quarter of this year, probably in or around the fall.
OLED Touchscreen Coming to the New MacBook Pro?
The same report also suggests that the new notebooks will be seen with a new OLED touchscreen that will replace the physical function keys. The screen will show different controls and notifications and will also show the function keys, so we can expect that it will be customizable to a great extent by the user.
MacBook Pro 2016 Will Get USB Type-C With Thunderbolt 3
According to a Forbes report, the 2016 MacBook Pro laptops will be coming with multiple USB-C ports along with Thunderbolt 3. For those who don’t know, Thunderbolt 3 is served through USB-C and provides up to 40 gigabits per second of transfer speeds. It also reduces power consumption and can power two 4K displays simultaneously. Apart from that, USB-C also supports HDMI, and the notebook will be charged via USB-C port. So all in all, USB Type-C port will have multiple usage, which is why Apple is expected to include more of those ports in the upcoming MacBok Pro laptops.
Better Hardware, New Features, and Great Pricing
Mirror reported that the new MacBook Pro 2016 will come in 13″ and 15″ models and will get faster processors and better battery life. Apple will use the new Skylake processors by Intel that will not only improve the performance but will also enhance the battery life. Apart from that, Siri and Touch ID support (physical hardware or through iPhone) is also expected in the laptops. The report also says that the MacBook Pro 2016 price might start at £999 ($1126) for the 13″ variant and around £1,599 ($1800) for the 15-inch version.
These are just rumors, so take them with a pinch of salt. We’ll get back to you with more information soon.
