Erica Messer Talks About Thomas Gibson Leaving The Show

During a recent interview with TV Guide, Messer stated that it wasn’t easy for her to get Hotchner’s character out of the story-line all of a sudden. At least this is what the show runner thought.

According to Messer, it wasn’t easy for her to come up with something that would fit in the story line, but making him leave because of his son was the best thing she could come up with. But it still was acceptable considering the fact that Hotch was absent from the past few episodes before he left the show. Thomas Gibson had to leave his work for some time as he didn’t want to drag is coworkers into the dark plans Mr. Scratch has against him. So Gibson decided to join his son in the Witness Program, thus leaving his team behind.

According to her, he will be a great addition to the team as his skills are going to be really useful in finding Mr. Scratch.
